      Hi James,
      Thanks for your comment.
As you know “ham” radio’s use a variety of different types of cords. Some like the PVC ones above, and others like the Multi-core cords listed elsewhere on this site.
We will need to know the technical details of your exact requirements before we can offer the price.
Also as you know…they come in different lengths.

      All the best…
      Paul.

        Hi Paul,
I`m after the same cord as above (6 core), but can be longer, say 600mm coils and 100mm ends.
Do you have the connector blocks at each as well?
RJ45 8 socket and 7 port PCB male connector for the mic end.
        Thanks,
        Norton.

        • Paul Scott says:

          Hi Norton,
These particular curly cords we only do in set lengths.
But we can do other lengths using other cables.

          We can do RJ45 connectors.

The little PCB connectors actually come in several very similar models. (They can sometimes look indistinguishable in a picture)
One main factor is probably the pitch. (i.e. The distance between the centres of the pins)
2mm is probably the most common, but they come in 1mm, 1.25mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 2.54mm amongst several others!
Can you try and measure the pitch?
Also can you please tell me the exact make and model? (I may have the details on file)

          Best regards
          Paul.

  6. Warwick Finlay says:

Im looking for a curley cord with two conductors. Extra conductors no prob. 12 volt for instrumentation. 200mm compressed length.

    • Paul Scott says:

      Hi Warwick,
I’m bound to have several options for you.
To help select the most appropriate cord….may I ask about the specific application?
Is it a handheld tester or some possibly a robotic application?
is it an electronic signal…not much in the way of current then.?
Is it being fitted with connectors…if so what type? (is the size of the cable a consideration for the connectors?)
And…how many cords are we looking at?

      Best regards
      Paul.

  7. David Falls says:

Hi, I have an ongoing problem here in FNQ with mould destroying microphone cords. The cords are 8 core (Icom microphones) with a coil length of 300 mm with 100 mm straight tails at each end. Both ends are fitted with 8p8c modular plugs. I’m probably not the only Icom user with this issue.

    • Paul Scott says:

      Hi David,
Yes…I know that problem. It seems very common with certain types of cables/brands. (a lot of imported cords have that problem)
We do some very special cables that should be far better.

I’ve got two 8 core screened cables, that we can fit off with RJ45’s
One is 5.6mm Ø. The other is a low profile one at 4mm Ø
I’ll send you an email with the details.

      Best regards
      Paul.

  8. Ashley Russell says:

    Hi Paul,
I have a Kenwood Ts480 hf radio. It has a 6 conductor, total, mic cord. would the PCB-05-12 cord do the job? one end is soldered & the other is a RJ45 plug.
    Cheers. AshleyR.

    • Paul Scott says:

      Hi Ashley,
Sorry for my delay. (I missed this message)
If your old cord has a single screened core…then this cord might well work.
I just looked at the ones I have in stock at the moment, and they look like they will fit into an RJ45 plug.
(I have had ones in the past that where too big in the OD)

Apart from these, I also do an 8 core with overall screen. with extra robust polyurethane jacket.
They will definable fit an RJ45 plugs.

      Best regards
      Paul.

  9. Wayne Fowler says:

Hi Paul. I require a 7 core cable with shielding encompassing the whole 7 cores as a single group. The cable needs to be very flexible and tropicalised for far northern Qld work. It can have 8 cores with an overall diameter of 6 – 8 mm.
    Cheers Wayne.
